Ring Settings

The manner in which a jeweler mounts a gemstone adds distinctive beauty to a ring. There are different types of settings like bezel, prong, invisible, channel, bar, and tension. Some gemstones are fragile and only specific types of settings are advisable.

In prong settings, three metal prongs hold the gemstone, forming a frame around it. In short prong settings, prongs hold the stone low, while high prong settings hold the stone high, allowing it to stand out.
