Gold Rings

Throughout history, countless kings, queens, lords, and commoners have worn and cherished gold rings. The soft, yellow metal has measured the wealth of nations and people since ancient times. People have used gold rings for engagements, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and other occasions such as school graduation rings.

Gold rings can be plain bands, engraved, or covered with gemstones. Ring bands can be flat, rounded, formed, over-formed, patterned, Russian, and tablet styles. Engravings of Celtic symbols are quite popular with their medieval whorls and scrolls proving an awe-inspiring sight.

White gold and rose gold are varieties that elegantly showcase diamonds. Pure, 24-karat gold is too soft and cannot make wearable rings. Mixed with small quantities of other metals like nickel, a gold-alloy mix is safe for rings and can withstand engraving.

For rings, 14 or 18-karat gold will create a stronger, longer-lasting ring. As a sign of authentication, jewelers engrave a mark on the inside face of the gold, giving the carat and purity details.
