Jewelry Trends

The jewelry industry is an ever-changing industry which is constantly transforming their pieces to make them appear newer and more exciting. Jewelry trends change almost as often as we change our clothes and jewelry designers do their very best to keep up with the process. So what’s popular right now? Take a look below to find the hottest jewelry trends of 2005.

1. Big – Big styles are in right now. Regardless of the type of jewelry – earrings, bracelets, necklaces – the style is the bigger the better. Big beads are especially popular, but be careful not to wear too many big accessories with one outfit. You want to accentuate your outfit, not take away from it.

2. Wood – Wooden jewelry is becoming very popular, very fast. Wooden bracelets, necklaces, and earrings are beautiful, but make sure the wood is not too heavy or it can potentially hurt you.

3. Bangles – Bangles have become very popular over the past few years. If you don’t already know, bangles are bracelets which are chunky and often made of wood or metal. They are large and are meant to fit big around your wrist.

4. Pastel Colors – Teals, blues, pinks, and other pastel colors are very popular right now. These accessories look best with solid colors – patterns often make these types of accessories look too tacky – and often accentuate the outfit you’re wearing. Just because these colors are most popular right now does not mean that blacks and browns are any less popular than they used to be.

5. Beads – Large beaded earrings, necklaces, and bracelets are very popular this season. These were popular in the 60’s and 70’s and have made a huge comeback in the last year. Beaded strings are very popular, especially for necklaces, and the larger the beads the better.

Trends are always great to be aware of but you are not required to follow them. Be your own person and wear the jewelry which makes you feel the best and most confident. If you are confident in yourself and the way you look, others will pick up on it and respect you for being your own person.

Styles and trends are great to know. Use a combination of your knowledge on the subject, as well as your personal tastes to define your own styles and trends. Implement your likes and dislikes into what you wear so that when all is said and done, you are truly happy with the way you look.
